About Us

Our club was established in September 2009, when several carriage driving enthusiasts got together and decided they wanted to get more out of their driving. We approached the Australian Carriage Driving Society NSW Branch with regards to affiliation and we where welcomed with open arms.

Since then we have grown to having one of ACDS NSW largest memberships. We have a regular club day on the second weekend of the month, where we enjoy social drives, instructional days, sporting activities, gymkhanas, challenge driving courses, three phase driving and driving schools just to mention a few.

October 2010 saw our club host the highly successful ACDS NSW Show Driving Championships, with competitors coming from all over NSW as well as from Queensland. With Ray Hines affiliating as show ring judge and Judy Hines the con course de elegance judge. The standard was of royal show quality which made the judging extremely difficult. Everyone should be congratulated for the way they presented themselves on the day, they are a credit to the sport. The feedback our club received was fantastic, with letters of thanks from competitors and spectators alike. We look forward to hosting future major events.

We are constantly receiving requests to attend horse expos and shows throughout the region. Several of our members also travel the 1400klms plus round trip to attend the Joe Hawkins Memorial Cup CDE at Marrar, which has fast become an annual event for our members. The Riverina Harness Club have made us feel so welcome and have been very accommodating, we always thoroughly enjoy the weekend.

Our calendar is very full this year with not only our own events but also with other club activities. We have been invited to join the North Coast Harness Club for a weekend of social driving throughout the state forest and enjoy some fantastic scenery which most of us have not seen before.

We have been invited to a interclub challenge weekend at the Hunter Harness Driving Society grounds at Stroud along with the Mid North Coast Club. We are all looking forward to that one. Although it is a fun weekend, there is an interclub trophy on the line.

We welcome all drivers and horses, our members drive a vast array of horses from minis to clydesdales and most in between. Our drivers junior and seniors range from beginners to the very experienced with years of driving behind them. We encourage everyone to help each other and guide the beginners along to ensure they become confident, experienced and safe drivers; in turn they then help the new members along.
